Utah Fits All: Funding Your BYU Experience

Steps to successfully applying your UEFA funds to BYU online programs

  • Once approved, access your ClassWallet account (third-party vendor that administers Utah Educator Fits All funds in a virtual account)
  • Within your ClassWallet account, "Shop the Marketplace"
  • Select from the following Brigham Young University programs:

  • Before you can finalize a purchase and "Pay Vendor," you will need to generate and upload a product invoice:
  • Upload PDF invoice to ClassWallet
  • From the list above, email BYU customer service your BYU NetID and PDF invoice after purchasing materials in ClassWallet. They will then contact you to obtain your desired materials
  • Note: These instructions apply to buying Independent Study materials. For OHS, you need to apply to the school, get accepted, and then contact customer service for an invoice. For mentoring and youth camps, please contact customer service to purchase.

What is the Utah Education Fits All Scholarship Account (UEFA)?

  • Funded by state tax dollars, the UEFA Scholarship expands educational opportunities for eligible Utah students.
  • Each year a child can receive an average of $8,000 per year to help with education costs if they opt out of public school.
  • The scholarship can pay for tuition, textbooks, tutoring, and more.
  • When signing a contract for an ESA, parents/guardians agree to provide an education that includes: reading, grammar, mathematics, social studies, and science.

BYU Independent Study
BYU Independent Study High School Courses
  • 220+ high school and middle school courses
  • Enroll anytime and complete courses within 12 months
  • Support from qualified teachers
  • Credit transferable to most U.S. high schools
  • New courses incorporate 21st century skills and social and emotional learning soft skills to develop college and career readiness
  • Courses are $215–$319 each
BYU Independent Study University Courses (concurrent enrollment)
  • 200 online university courses
  • Enroll anytime and complete courses within 12 months
  • Support from qualified faculty
  • Credit transferrable to most U.S. colleges, universities, and high schools
  • Concurrent enrollment courses are $768 for three university credits and can also count toward high school graduation requirements (or $256 per credit if seeking a two- or four-credit course)

You have two options for a high school education:

BYU Online High School—Semester Live Courses
  • Receive a private school education and earn a high school diploma
  • Grades 7–12; for those 12–18 years old
  • Participate in six or seven online courses with live virtual instruction and labs; complete the curriculum within the timeframe of the semester schedule
  • $360 per course; $50 application fee
BYU Online High School—Flex On Demand Course
  • Receive a private school education and earn a high school diploma
  • Grades 7–12; for those 12–18 years old
  • Participate in online courses on a flexible schedule with 6 months to complete each course
  • Students have access to a course teacher, but the instruction is not live
  • $275 per course; $50 application fee

  • 8 30-minute academic coaching sessions with initial 1 hour evaluation session
  • 10 30-minute peer mentoring sessions

Gold - $1000

  • 6 30-minute academic coaching sessions with initial 1 hour evaluation session
  • 8 30-minute peer mentoring sessions
  • 8 30-minute tutoring sessions

Silver - $800

  • 6 30-minute academic coaching sessions with initial 1 hour evaluation session
  • 6 30-minute peer mentoring sessions

Bronze - $600

  • 4 30-minute academic coaching sessions with initial 1 hour evaluation session
  • 4 30-minute peer mentoring sessions
  • 6 30-minute tutoring sessions

FAQs

Is my student eligible?

All K–12 Utah students are eligible for the Utah Fits All initiative. However, BYU explicitly offers courses to grades 7–12.

When do I sign up?

The application window for scholarship renewals opens in January each year, while new applications are accepted starting in March. The application period for all applicants closes in May, with scholarship awards announced within 30 days after the portal closes. For more information, please visit the UEFA website.

BYU Independent Study offers open enrollment, allowing students to begin courses at any time. For those interested in BYU Online High School, Semester Live Courses start in August and January each year. Flex On Demand Courses are available for students to start anytime.

What exactly can I spend my Utah Fits All funds on?
